You will experience:

DAY 1

Dali - Weishan

Fly to Kunming

Fly to Dali, then drive 30 minutes to Donglianhua Muslim Village to explore this historic and charming village, which once had many men working as horsemen along the ancient Tea Horse Caravans Trading Trail. Here, they built a beautiful mosque and compound. Enjoy Weishan Old Town in the evening. Overnight stay in a local boutique hotel in Weishan.

DAY 2

Weibao Mountain to Xizhou

Visit Weibao Mountain, which has old Taoist/Buddhist Temples in the forest, with interesting architecture. Then drive to visit Dali Old Town.

DAY 3

Around Xizhou and Erhai Lake

Visit Xizhou morning market, and the old residence of the Bai People. Then bike along the beautiful bank of Erhai Lake. Visit a family that makes tie-die and die your own piece.

DAY 4

Mt.Shibao to Shaxi

Erhai Lake

Visit Mt.Shibao where there is a Hanging Temple built on a cliff, with wild monkeys. You cvan then hike 2 hours downhill to Shaxi if you would like to.

Morning Market, Xizhou

Chongyu Boutique Hotel, traditional wood house with courtyard, run by local ethnique Bai People.

DAY 5

Shaxi to Shangrila

Shaxi to Spring Water Village to Shangril then to Shangrila old town where you can join local Tibetan dancing in the square in the evening. Overnight stay in local boutique hotel.

Hot springs

If you choose, you can make terracotta pottery by hand, in Diannan village

DAY 6

Wufeng Mountain to Napa Lake

Shangrila Old Town

Hike 2 hours over Wufeng Mountain, passing Tibetan villages and pasture land. Pay a visit to a local Tibetan Family, try butter tea, and make your own Stampa (Tibetan bread mixed with butter tea and barley wheat). If you want to you can try horse riding around beautiful Napa Lake.

DAY 7

Songzanlin Lamasery - Tiger Leaping Gorge

Visit Songzanlin Lamasery, then drive to Tiger Leaping Gorge. Hike 2 hours on an easy mountain path, flat level, with breath-taking views, and stay overnight in the beautiful Tea Horse guest house

DAY 8

Tiger Leaping Gorge - Lijiang

Hike for 2 hours further to Halfway Guest House, and enjoy the stunning view of the gorge. Then visit the Upper Gorge, which is closer to the water and offers spectacular views. Drive for 2 hours to Lijiang. Overnight stay at a local boutique hotel in Shuhe.

DAY 9

Around Lijiang

Take small hikes around beautiful, hidden villages, and pay a visit to a local Naxi Family. Have a relaxing time in Baisha Village and Shuhe Old Town. Visit Lijiang old town and beautiful Black Dragon Pool Park.
