Hike in Tiger Leaping Gorge and Haba Snow Mountain, Yunnan Province

DAY 1

Arrival in Lijiang

Take a flight to Lijiang and get picked up and checked into a cosy hotel.

DAY 2

Lijiang to Tiger Leaping Gorge

DAY 4

Forest to Pasture Land

Drive for 30 minutes along the mountain road, then begin hiking from an altitude of 3000 metres to 3900 metres. Continue through the forest to pasture land, with herder huts and yaks, passing rockland azalea bushes, and arrive at No. 2 pasture land. Afterwards, set up camp and cook nearby.

DAY 5

The Black Sea (Heihai Lake)

Hike for approximately 5-6 hours across pastureland and along the ridge of the high mountain to the Black Sea, at around an altitude of 4,100 meters. This area is one of the most stunning and intriguing spots. Enjoy the view of Haba Mountain, then camp and cook here.

DAY 6

Haba Village to Lijiang

Hike about 4-5 hours down to Haba Village, through forest, waterfalls and open pasture land, throug an ethnic Yi Village. Meet the driver at the end of hike, and drive 4-6 hours to Lijiang.

DAY 7

Departure from Lijiang

Enjoy a relaxing time exploring Shuhe and Lijiang old towns, then leave for the airport at least 2 hours before your flight.

Drive two hours to Tiger Leaping Gorge, start hiking from Naxi Family Guest House, cross over the 28 Bends, and arrive at Tea Horse Guest House for a late lunch. Continue hiking along a flat mountain path to the muddy stream, passing the Indian-face cliff, and arrive at Halfway Guest House, where you will stay overnight.

DAY 3

Tiger Leaping Gorge to Haba Village

Hike further to Tina's guest house and decend to explore the breath-taking Middle Gorge and walnut grove. Then drive 3-5 hours to Haba Village, and stay overnight in a local family guest house.
